State-owned NHPC has restored one more unit of the Uri-II power station in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
With this, three of the four units of the Uri-II power station are now operational after being shut following a fire incident in November last year.<\/p>\n
“One more unit (i.e. Unit- 3) of Uri-II power station has been restored on July 12, 2015 after the fire incident of November 20, 2014,” NHPC said in a BSE filing.<\/p>\n
Unit-4 and Unit-1 of the plant were restored on June 15 and June 17 respectively.<\/p>\n
Uri-II power station (4X 60MW) is a run-of-the-river project located in Uri Tehsil of Baramulla District.<\/p>\n
The project is designed to make use of Jhelum waters at a gross head of about 130m following the discharge of Uri-I tail water upstream.<\/p>\n
The powerhouse cavern of the plant is 133m long, 15m wide and 40m high. It accommodates four Francis vertical turbines of 60MW capacity each.<\/p>\n
The power station is close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and is designed to generate 1,124 million units in a 90 per cent dependable year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
