The rating agency maintained a stable outlook on HMEL. The agency has also affirmed the rating on the company&#8217;s $375 million senior notes at &#8216;BB-&#8216;. <\/p>\n<p>HMEL&#8217;s standalone credit profile, Fitch said, is at &#8216;BB-&#8216;. \u201c It reflects its robust refining operations from its high-complexity refinery, strong profitability and high leverage, which we expect to continue increasing over the next few years due to large capex on its petrochemical expansion project,\u201d Fitch said in its statement. HMEL\u2019S IDR has a rating of &#8216;BB&#8217; due to the benefit of one-notch uplift for moderate linkages with its 48.99 per cent shareholder, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL).<\/p>\n<p>Fitch however added HMEL\u2019s IDR could further gain from HPCL\u2019s rating in case their assessment of HMEL deteriorated or HPCL\u2019s rating improves. \u201c HMEL&#8217;s IDR could benefit from an additional one-notch uplift should Fitch\u2019s standalone assessment of HMEL deteriorate, provided HPCL&#8217;s standalone rating remains intact, or if our assessment of HPCL&#8217;s standalone rating improves, provided HMEL&#8217;s standalone rating remains intact,\u201d the rating agency said.<\/p>\n<p>On expected gross refining margins (GRM), Fitch expects HMEL\u2019s GRM to moderate from $15.1 per barrel in FY18 due to higher crude oil prices, which are not fully passed through.<\/p>\n<p>HMEL is setting up a petrochemical plant with a 1.2 mmtpa capacity to improve downstream integration and estimates capex of Rs 217 billion over the next five years.
