Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Infrastructure on Monday said it has won the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Versova-Bandra Sea Link Project in a joint venture with Astaldi SpA (Italy) for a value of Rs 70 billion.<\/p>\n
“Reliance Infrastructure Limited-Astaldi SpA JV had emerged the most competitive bidder with their bid of Rs 69.93 billion. Other bidders in the fray were L&T-Samsung JV and Hyundai Development Company-ITD JV,” RInfra said in a statement. The letter of award (LoA) for the project has been issued by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). <\/p>\n
With a length of 17.17 km, Versova-Bandra Sea Link is three times the length of the existing Bandra-Worli Sea Link, which is 5.6 km, the company added in its statement. The company added this would be the largest urban infrastructure project of its kind in India.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur JV with Astaldi SpA, the third biggest construction player in the world in bridges with an order backlog of over Rs 2 lakh crore, will help us create a truly world-class mega infrastructure project for Mumbai,” said Arun Gupta, the chief executive officer (CEO) for RInfra.<\/p>\n
