He even stated that the Lavalin deal was not initiated during Pinarayi Vijayan\u2019s tenure, according to a report in Mathrubhumi.com.<\/p>\n
Senior advocate Harish Salve made this statement before the Kerala High Court today when CBI\u2019s revision petition came up before the court, wherein the CBI\u2019s charge sheet had named Pinarayi Vijayan as the seven accused in the Lavalin case.<\/p>\n
Salve told the Kerala High Court that CBI\u2019s allegation of corruption and conspiracy in the SNC-Lavalin deal is a fabricated story. He referred to the agreement with the Canadian company Lavalin as one that was carried forward with good intention when the state was reeling under a severe power crisis and at the time, Pinarayi Vijayan was the Power Minister.<\/p>\n
Harish Salve pointed out that the pressure on the state government to come up with an initiative to tackle the crisis was so intense at the time but now it also shows that only brickbats are thrown when some good deeds are done.<\/p>\n
Rubbishing CBI\u2019s allegations against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Harish Salve categorically stated that the Lavalin agreement was not initiated during his tenure and that CBI found no faults with the steps taken by G Karthikeyan.
