Capping RPO www.infralive.com 33 Infra LIVE August 15, 2019 Thus, there is no stay by the Supreme Court in the determina- tion of fresh price of REC. The tariff of both solar and wind energy have fallen substantially to about Rs 2.50 per unit (tables-2 at pg 36, table-3 at pg 32 & table-4 at pg 37). When CERC had fixed REC price in 2017, it had considered the refer- ence rates as Rs 4.65 per unit for solar and Rs 4.16 to Rs 5.90 for wind (see column 'O', 'P' & 'Q' of table-1 at pg 34 & 35). Therefore, CERC should in the interest of the sector, consum- ers and economy as a whole, immedi- ately review the REC price and bring it down, too, by half, to Rs 500 per REC from present Rs 1,000 per REC. r Non-solar RECs issued on or after April 1, 2017 shall continue to be traded in accordance with the floor price (ie Rs 1,000/MWh) determined in the order dated March 30, 2017 in 2/SM/2017.
