Court finds evidence of siphoning www.infralive.com 48 InfraLIVE September 15, 2025 IL efforts to seek response from members of Group-2 sinister agenda of members of Group-1 to gain control on Trust and for abusing its corpus, and claims that many of the issues raised in the said FIRs have already been adjudicated by courts decades ago. A2. He has also denied grabbing control of Trust forcibly & illegally, as factually incorrect, and calls it a perception created by members of Group-1. He claims that it was his father (Vijay Mehta) who built the hospital and members of Group-1 has no contribution for building hospital. He claims, without his father, the hospital would not have existed. He says that the rejection of him being Trustee by Charity Com- missioner, is sub-judice and being contested. A3. He denies roping in HDFC to fight their battle against members of Group-1, terming it as a false statement. Further, he claims that the members of Group-1 family has implicated Mr Sashidhar so that he does not pursue recovery of loans given to them for their who wilful default. A4. On the issue of Cash Diary, he claims that it has suddenly surfaced and i s now be i ng us ed as a weaponizing tool to launch court cases and FIRs. He raises doubts about its authenticity and credibil- ity, and questions if any forensic check has beendone. A5. O n t h e i s s u e o f S Lakshminarayanan issuing warn- ings about siphoning off hospital funds, he does not deny the emails, but terms it a wrong statement. He claims that he has always been vigi- lante about proper utilization of funds. He claims that at many times Mr Lakshminarayanan acknowl- edged the contribution of his father, mother and himself in running the Trust in a selfless manner, in com- parison to others. Further research on Vijay Mehta After the above response, we specif- ically tried to look for facts. We came across a judgement dated September 9, 2009 (Application No. 17 of 2006 filed by CharuMehta v/s Rekha Sheth & Ors) by Joint Ch a r i t y Commi s s i on e r who ordered Vijay Mehta's dismissal as Trustee from the Trust for grave financial irregularities (see scan below). The details given in this 82 page judgement is very alarming and is in sharp contrast to the claim beingmade by his son. We sent the following five common issues to all the six members of Group-2 for their response: - Q1. You have siphoned off sub- stantial money from Lilavati Trust/Hospital, and the courts have passed orders for registration of FIRs against you. Q2. You forc ibl y & i l l ega l l y g r a b b e d t h e c o n t r o l o f Trust/Hospital from Kishor Mehta's family. Q3. You roped in HDFC's current MD & CEO in your fight against KishorMehta's family. Q4. Some pages of a Cash Diary were filed in the Court by a certain Member of Mr Kishor's family in which your name is shown as one of the beneficiaries. Q5. Trust's Principal Advisor S Lakshminarayanan had repeat- edly warned you through emails about your wrongdoing, but you did not care and kept siphoning off funds. Only Niket Mehta sent his response, which has been summarisedas follows: - A1. He has denied the FIRs as false, fictitious, bogus, and base- less, and terms it as a part of the 148. .....
