Siphoning off Hospital Funds www.infralive.com 41 InfraLIVE September 15, 2025 Allegations of siphoning offRs 11.51Cr byVijayMehta Relevant extracts of FIR No 972 of 224 dated 07.07.2024 U/S 406, 420, 36 of IPC Suresh Motwani has two ownership companies i.e. Mayfair Realtors Pvt Ltd and Westa India Pvt Ltd and out of that, in the bank account of Mayfair Realtors Pvt Ltd deposited the sum of Rs 2.30 crores in August 2001 on behalf of Trust but the said amount has not been remitted back in the bank account of the Trust. No record is available that would show the purpose of giving that money. And after enquiring, I got some information that Suresh Motwani has returned the said money in cash within 5 to 6 days to Vijay Mehta. But Vijay Mehta has not deposited the said amount in theTrustAccount. Similarly, between March 2002 and June 2003, Vijay Mehta has depos- ited the sum of Rs 14.22 crores in the account of Westa India Pvt Ltd for pur- chasing hospital medical equipment. But I also enquired about the same and I got the information that the total sum of Rs 9.22 crores out of the said amount has been returned in cash byMotwani toVijayMehta, but the same has not been deposited in the Trust bank account by VijayMehta.And no medical equipment has been provided to the hospital. In this respect, I checked the Union Bank of India, Hill Road Branch, BandraWest, Mumbai bank statement of Trust (account No.120013) and found payment of Rs 7,21,93,988/- on 05.03.2002 and payment of Rs 2,00,00,000/- on 13.03.2002 to the account of Westa India Ltd. And on 29.08.2001 found pay- ment of Rs 1,50,00,000/- and on 19.11.2001 found payment of Rs 80,00,000/- to Mayfair Realtors. Forensic report in respect of the same will be submitted later. In such manner, with the purpose of grabbing the money of Leelvati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust (LKMMT), Vijay Mehta along with the then trustees related with the said financial misdeed namely Rashmi Mehta, Niket Mehta, Sushila Mehta, Bhavin Mehta, Chetan Mehta and others in collusion with Suresh Motwani and the total sum of Rs 16.52 crores paid to Mayfair Realtors Pvt Ltd and Westa India Pvt Ltd and out of that, the total sum of Rs 11.52 crores have been accepted in cash and without showing its transaction anywhere, and cheated theTrust.
