NEW DELHI: The process of merging Vistara with Air India is on at several levels that includes seeking regulatory clearances, settling pilot seniority issues and also taking care of passenger expectations.
The reason: In the last few years, Vistara built an image of a flyer-friendly full service carrier while refurbishing AI aircraft interiors has taken much longer than originally expected due to supply chain issues. This has meant replacing seats, inflight entertainment (IFE) systems in economy class and other passenger pain points in AI’s poorly-maintained fleet that saw no investment on upkeep in its last few penurious state-owned days is still work in progress.
