Vistara, a joint venture of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, has run into pilot trouble. After pilots protesting over a revised salary structure by the airline before its merger with Air India went on mass sick leave, it cancelled nearly 50 flights, with more than 150 delayed across its network. When new airline Akasa celebrated its first birth anniversary in August last year, it landed into trouble with 43 of its pilots quitting, leading to cancellation of flights and consequent loss of market share too. Now Akasa says it has more than enough pilots.
