An oral hearing, during which Vijay Mallya’s legal team will attempt to persuade the High Court in London to allow him to appeal against the extradition order against him, will take place on July 2. A judge at the court had earlier this month rejected his application for permission to appeal against the order — via the exchanges of documents between the judge and both sides.
The one-day hearing could provide the final opportunity for Mallya to attempt to fight the extradition order. If the application to appeal is rejected at this stage following the oral hearing, Mallya would have no further recourse to appeal.
