CHENNAI: Upping customer satisfaction, state-owned Indian Oil has said it will deliver booked LPG cylinders in one day from Tamil New Year’s day.
Domestic LPG cylinders, which are subsidised by the Union government, normally takes three to four days for delivery after booking. “Our internal assessment is that it takes 1.8 days to deliver a cylinder now. We have embarked upon a programme along with our distributors to cut this delivery time. Our promise will be delivered in a day, or a maximum 24 hours from booking a refill,” said P Jayadevan, executive director, Indian Oil, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
“Ideally, we want our customers to book using the IndianOil app or through WhatsApp so that there is a time trail. Also, if payments are made digitally it will help everyone,” he said. “If they do not delivery in 24 hours, they can call our toll free numbers and lodge a complaint.”
