In order to develop Panchkula as a solar city, the Haryana Government has already installed solar power plants on the rooftops of 38 government buildings here.
The government has also signed an agreement with the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) to install solar panels on 43 government buildings with a total capacity of 3,500 kilowatts.
Stating this, Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh today said Panchkula would be developed as a solar city with a target of meeting its 20 per cent energy requirement from solar/renewable energy sources by 2023-24.
