In certain parts of India, the construction of large NPPs is not economically justified, while in others, it is impossible due to territorial features and the lack of power grids. In such cases, what Rosatom, the State Atomic Energy Corporation, offers for SMR NPPs may turn out to be the only right solution, according to Dr Dmitrii Samokhin, Head of the Nuclear Physics and Engineering department, Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering of the National Research Nuclear University.
