A deputy chief ticket inspector (DCTI) of the Indian Railways, who was recently suspended for allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger at a railway station in Bengaluru, was arrested Monday.
The ticket checker, identified as V Santhosh, allegedly heckled the woman to show her ticket on March 14. The woman approached the police on March 17 and filed a complaint against Santosh. The police have registered a case under Section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to the complaint, the woman is a resident of West Bengal and lives in the Marathahalli area of Bengaluru where she is looking for a job.
