A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court comprising of Justices Arun Mishra, BR Gavai, and Surya Kant in its order of July 2, 2019, decided that Adani Power Mundra was well within their contractual rights in terminating the power purchase agreement (PPA) it had signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL), as it could not get coal supply on time from the Naini block of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC).
