BENGALURU: Residents of several localities, including Jayanagar, HSR Layout, Koramangala and Whitefield, have alleged that unscheduled power cuts are not only getting frequent but also continuing for longer durations.
Data available with the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) shows more than 48 instances of unscheduled power cuts were recorded across the city till 4.30pm on Tuesday. Nearly 50 such instances were reported in when rain lashed the city on Monday.
Areas in Jayanagar and BTM Layout witnessed a shocking 20-hour power disruption, which began on Monday and continued well into Tuesday. Bilekahalli, Water Tank Road, Ram Rao Layout, Kempegowda Layout, Kathriguppe, 7th Main, 18th Main, 8th Cross and 9th Cross 2nd Phase near Sarakki were the affected areas.
