MUMBAI: The additional registrar of cooperative societies has issued a directive to housing societies to grant noobjection certificates (NOC) to electric vehicle (EV) owners within seven days from the date of application if the latter have adhered to the safety advisory as per the state government standard operating procedure (SOP).
Sources said this is a significant order as many residents had complained that they were unable to procure NOCs from the society managing committee. “Now, residents who purchase an electric scooter or car can easilyget an NOC within seven days if they comply with all the conditions laid down in the SOP,” an official said.
