The price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder has been cut with effect from today, in line with a decline in global rates. In Delhi, a 14.2 kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder will cost ₹805, down from ₹858 in the previous month. After the latest price revision, a cylinder in Kolkata will cost ₹839, in Mumbai ₹776.5 and in Chennai ₹826. Domestic LPG price is based on the international market price for the previous month.
Every household is entitled to 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg each at subsidised rates in a year. LPG price for cooking for consumers under PAHAL (Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG) is subsidised by the Union Government and the subsidy quantum given to them is the difference between the market-determined price and the subsidised price.
Any requirement beyond that is to be purchased at market price.
