NEW DELHI: CNG will become cheaper by Rs 1.53 per kg and PNG by Re 1.05 per unit (standard cubic meter, or scm) in Delhi from Sunday as a result of a 25% drop in the price of natural gas produced from domestic fields. In the neighbouring cities of Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, CNG will cost Rs 1.70 less per kg and PNG Re1 per unit, Indraprastha Gas Ltd said on Saturday.
From Sunday 6am, CNG will cost Rs 42.70 per kg in Delhi and Rs 48.38 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. PNG will cost Rs. 27.50 per unit against Rs 28.55 in Delhi and Rs 27.45 as opposed to Rs 28.45 in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. The difference in the quantum of decrease is due to the difference in the way Delhi and UP government tax the fuels.
IGL has also cut prices in its other markets. CNG will cost Rs 56.55 per kg in Muzaffarnagar and Rs 50.68 in Karnal and Kaithal. In Rewari and Gurugram it will cost Rs 53.40 per kg, while in Kanpur the new price will bee Rs 59.80 per kg.
