Stakeholders in the tourism sector have demanded the continuation of subsidised electricity for the hotels and lodges which was announced by the previous PDP-BJP government in its budget in 2018.
Then Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu had declaring all hotels and lodges as industrial units and provided incentives, including subsidised electricity, with effect from April 2018.
“The only lacuna in the declaration was that it was done for only one year with a provision that further incentives will be considered after the annual meetings by Jammu & Kashmir State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JKSERC),” said Pawan Gupta, president, All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association.
