Demand for air travel recovered during the month of June after falling to 30,000 daily passengers during the month of May due to a devastating second wave of COVID infection that saw infection numbers rising to over 400,000 per day.
Domestic passenger numbers started to recover during the month of June after cases started to decline. Daily infection numbers are in the range of 40,000 per day, which is set to decline further by the end of July and beyond. Air passenger numbers are expected to grow further with increase in vaccination and decline in number of cases.
