To decongest Mohali, Kharar and the IT City, the construction of the 32-km-long road under Bharatmala project is going on in full swing in the district.
In the first phase of the road construction, the work of constructing bridges is going on. The work of road construction will further be expedited after the harvesting season is over. The officials of the district revenue department said that around 99% of the land required for the project has been acquired.
The around 220-foot-wide new road will connect Mohali with Ludhiana road and Siswan road which further goes to Baddi in Himachal Pradesh (HP).
