Claiming that the crew on board Air India’s New York-New Delhi flight, in which an inebriated co-passenger urinated on her, had “actively coerced a settlement between” her and “the perpetrator”, the woman who underwent the trauma has approached the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and airline companies to bring out Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulations to deal with incidents of passenger misconduct.
The 72-year-old woman said the cabin crew “facilitated the handing over of the petitioner’s phone number to the passenger who had urinated on her in order to reimburse the cost of shoes, dry-cleaning, etc”.
