A pall of gloom descended Nard village after three persons including a father-son duo died due to electrocution and two others receive injuries following a short circuit in the village in Tangdhar area (Karnah) of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
During the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday at around 3am a high voltage transmission line fell over a low voltage line causing a ‘high-voltage short circuit’ in the village.
“The villagers who tried to plug off their gadgets received electric shock, in which three persons died on the spot and two others received minor injuries,” locals from the area said.
