KOLKATA: Two ticket-checking staff members from South-Eastern Railway (SER) have collected fines amounting to Rs 1 crore each.
Pintu Das, special ticket checking staffer of Kharagpur division, and Piyush Kumar, ticket examiner of Ranchi division, have collected the amount as penalty from errant travellers during the financial year 2022-23.
While Das has collected Rs 1 crore from 11,861 passengers, Kumar has collected Rs 1 crore from 11,657 passengers. “This is the highest collection by any ticket checking staffer of SER,” said SER CPRO Aditya Kumar Chaudhary.
