In a meeting held on May 21, 2018, the Committee of Secretaries (CoS) has recommended that every department / ministry / enterprise of the centre should put in place an officer who would certify the compliance of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP)’s Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India or PPP-MII) Order, 2017, before any tender is announced. CoS has received complaints of non-compliances of the PPP-MII Order in the railway tenders.
