NEW DELHI: IndiGo will start twice daily flights to China this year. Willy Boulter, the low cost carrier’s chief commercial officer, said this on Wednesday. The airline has so far not given the names of its destinations in China. Sources say these two might be Guangzhou and Kunming.
“We will fly to China this year 14 times a week. As of now, there are only 47 weekly flights between India and China (5 by Air India and 42 by Chinese airlines). We will deploy 14 flights to China this year,” Boulter said at a CAPA summit here.
IndiGo has started getting the single-aisle Airbus A321 Neo, with 222 all-economy seats and an extra fuel tank that give it an extra hour of flying time.
