Govt vs CAG

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in its report of July 18, 2016 has stated that the actual savings on LPG subsidy due to decrease in off-take of subsidised cylinders by consumers is Rs 1,763.93 crore in 2015-16, while the major part of reduction by Rs 21,552.28 crore in subsidy in 2015-16 is due to sharp fall in crude prices.
