The government has given interim charge of Coal India Ltd Chairman to Gopal Singh, Chairman of Central Coalfields Ltd.
Singh has been given the charge on Friday after the position of Coal India chairman fell vacant following superannuation of the incumbent chairman Suthirtha Bhattacharya.
The selection process of the chairman for Coal India was scrapped last month after the government said it did not find anybody suitable for the post.
