The district adminstration has started removing encroachments on Tral-Awantipora road here in Pulwama district on Monday following a report carried by the Greater Kashmir about this.
The private encroachments had choked this vital road since decades.
Greater Kashmir, in its April 22nd edition, had carried a story highlighting how administration during past four years failed to remove the encroachments on this road despite issuing multiple notices to the encroachers.
Everyday many vehicles got blocked near the Mukdam Mohalla. The bottleneck caused massive traffic jams in the town, endangering the lives of the patients being ferried to hospitals. The spot had also witnessed deadly road accidents during the past few years.
