The government has issued a draft policy that provides a framework to promote and incentivize Enhanced Recovery methods in the Indian Oil & Gas industry. The policy shall apply to all private and public sector entities and their subsidiaries operating in the oil & gas industry and will come into force with immediate effect.

As per a recent comprehensive skill gap analysis conducted by the ministry through a consultancy firm, the total direct employment in the aviation sector in 2015 was about 195,320, comprising of 33,000 at airports, 55,070 in airlines, 71,000 in cargo handling, 1,250 in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sub-sector, and 35,000 in ground handling operations.
